We’re excited to welcome Dr. Rob Roth to the team at Marda Loop Naturopathic and Wellness Clinic. Dr. Rob focuses on chronic pain, injury recovery, arthritis, joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, and complex chronic health concerns in Calgary.
Dr. Rob’s practice is centered around helping patients find long-term solutions — especially those who may feel stuck after trying conventional treatments without lasting results. His approach focuses on understanding the root cause of pain and dysfunction while supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
What Type of Patients Does Dr. Rob see?
Patients often see Dr. Rob for the following:
- Chronic joint pain,
- Sports injuries,
- Recurring sprains,
- Tendon and ligament injuries,
- Mild-to-moderate arthritis,
- Back and neck pain,
- Shoulder pain,
- Knee pain,
- Hip and pelvic pain,
- Ankle and foot injuries,
- Repetitive strain concerns affecting the elbow, wrist, or hand
One of Dr Rob’s primary areas of focus is prolotherapy, a regenerative injection therapy that supports the body’s natural repair process by targeting weakened, irritated, or injured tissues that may be contributing to ongoing pain, instability, or reduced function. Rather than simply masking symptoms, prolotherapy is used to help address structural issues involving ligaments, tendons, joints, and connective tissue.

Dr Rob has more than 14 years of clinical experience working with patients with chronic pain and has completed over 10,000 regenerative prolotherapy procedures.
In addition to chronic pain and injury care, Dr. Rob also works with patients experiencing complex or long-standing health concerns that have not fully improved with conventional approaches. His care may include IV nutrient therapy, advanced lab testing, genetic testing, and functional medicine strategies, supported by his fellowship training in Functional Psychiatry.
What Is Prolotherapy?
Prolotherapy is considered a non-surgical treatment option for chronic musculoskeletal pain and joint instability. The goal is not simply to mask pain, but to support the repair of damaged connective tissue that may be contributing to ongoing symptoms. By stimulating a mild, controlled healing response, prolotherapy may help strengthen ligaments and tendons, improve joint function, and reduce inflammation over time.
Patients often seek prolotherapy for conditions such as:
- Chronic joint pain
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis
- Rotator cuff injuries
- Tennis or golfer’s elbow
- Low back pain
- Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
- Sprained ankles
- Meniscus injuries
- Ligament laxity or unstable joints
Prolotherapy may be especially beneficial for active individuals who want to remain mobile and avoid more invasive interventions when appropriate. It can also support people who feel frustrated by recurring injuries or pain that keeps returning despite physiotherapy, medications, or rest.

A Collaborative and Personalized Approach
What makes Dr. Rob’s approach especially valuable is his commitment to individualized care. Every patient’s history, goals, and lifestyle are different, and treatment plans are designed accordingly. Whether someone is looking to return to sport, improve mobility, reduce chronic pain, or optimize overall wellness, Dr. Rob works collaboratively with patients to help them move toward better health and function.
We’re thrilled to have Dr. Rob join our growing team and expand the services available at Marda Loop Naturopathic and Wellness Clinic. His expertise in regenerative medicine and chronic pain support will be an incredible resource for our community.
Please join us in giving Dr. Rob a warm welcome!
