We all know we should eat fruit and vegetables, but fewer then half of Canadians get the recommend 7-10 serving of fruit and vegetables per day.
Fruit and veggies contain many antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals (like Vitamins A, C, E, zinc and magnesium). A diet rich in vegetables and fruit can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and some types of cancer.
Some great ways to incorporate fruit and vegetables into your diet is to add them to smoothies, have salads and soups, stand alone as a snack, or as side dishes to your favourite meals.
Don’t forget about dried, frozen, and canned fruits and vegetables which can be a great budget friendly options.
